FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about our handmade felt products, wholesale orders, custom manufacturing, and global shipping.

What materials do you use to make your felt products?

We use 100% natural New Zealand wool and eco-friendly, azo-free dyes. This ensures our felt products are safe, highly durable, and environmentally responsible for both humans and pets. We do not use any synthetic fillers or harmful chemicals.

Are your products truly handmade?

Yes. All our felt products are meticulously handcrafted by skilled women artisans in Nepal. We use traditional wet felting and needle felting techniques. No heavy machinery is involved in the shaping or forming process, making every piece unique.

Where are your products manufactured?

All our felt and wool products are manufactured in our own facility located in Kathmandu, Nepal. By operating our own factory directly, we ensure strict quality control, consistent sizing, and fair labor practices for our entire team.

Is Felt and Wool Craft a fair-trade company?

Yes, we operate strictly on fair-trade principles. We provide fair wages, safe and comfortable working conditions, and empower local women artisans by providing them with sustainable employment opportunities and skills training.

Are your products eco-friendly and safe for children and pets?

Absolutely. Wool is a 100% renewable and biodegradable natural resource. Because we use non-toxic, eco-friendly dyes and zero harsh chemicals or glues, our felt products are completely safe for children, dogs, and cats.

How can I request a catalog or company profile?

You can download our digital catalog directly from our website's 'Catalogs' page. Alternatively, you can contact us at info@feltandwoolcraft.com to request our full company profile and the latest wholesale pricing list.

Can I place a bulk or wholesale order?

Yes, we specialize in bulk and wholesale manufacturing. We offer factory-direct pricing, attractive tiered volume discounts, and full export support for B2B buyers, boutiques, and e-commerce brands globally.

What is your Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)?

Our MOQ depends heavily on the specific product. For standard stock designs and colors, the MOQ is generally low to support small retailers. For custom shapes, new designs, or specific Pantone color matches, a minimum quantity of 50-100 units may apply.

Do you offer samples before placing a large wholesale order?

Yes, we highly encourage sampling. You can order a sample pack or individual prototypes to verify our quality, material density, and color accuracy before you commit to a larger bulk production order.

How do I place a custom or wholesale order?

You can fill out the dedicated application forms on our 'Wholesale' or 'Custom Manufacturing' pages. You can also email us directly with your specific product requirements, quantities, and delivery location. We will review your request and send a tailored quote within 24-48 hours.

What payment methods do you accept for B2B orders?

For international wholesale orders, we accept secure wire transfers (T/T), SWIFT, Wise, and major credit cards via secure payment gateways. A deposit is typically required to begin production, with the balance due before shipping.

Do you offer OEM, customization, or private labeling?

Yes. We offer comprehensive OEM and private label services. You can customize colors, sizes, shapes, and add your own branded hang tags, belly bands, sewn-in labels, or eco-friendly packaging.

Can you make a product from my own design or sketch?

Yes. We regularly turn customer sketches, reference images, or technical drawings into physical felt prototypes. Our experienced design team will work with you through iterations until the sample matches your exact vision.

Can you match specific Pantone colors?

Yes, we can dye our New Zealand wool to match your specific Pantone color codes. This ensures your custom products perfectly align with your brand's established color palette and seasonal collections.

How long does custom prototyping take?

Prototyping generally takes 7 to 14 days. The exact timeline depends on the complexity of the design, the current production queue, and the availability or dyeing time required for specific custom wool colors.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship globally on a daily basis. We have partnered with major logistics providers like DHL, FedEx, TNT, and UPS for fast door-to-door air freight. For large volume orders, we can also arrange cost-effective air cargo or sea freight.

How long does it take to process and ship an order?

Small retail orders usually ship within 3-5 business days. For wholesale and custom OEM orders, the production lead time ranges from 2 to 4 weeks, depending entirely on the total order volume and factory capacity at the time.

Who pays for import duties and customs clearance fees?

The buyer is responsible for any import duties, taxes, or customs clearance fees levied by their destination country. However, we provide commercial invoices, certificates of origin, and all necessary export documentation to ensure customs clearance is as smooth as possible.

Do you provide tracking information for international shipments?

Yes. Once your order has been dispatched from our Kathmandu facility, we will immediately provide you with a tracking number and a link so you can monitor your shipment's progress directly via the courier's website.

What are wool dryer balls and how do they actually work?

Wool dryer balls are a natural, eco-friendly alternative to liquid fabric softeners and plastic dryer sheets. When placed in the tumble dryer with wet laundry, they bounce around, separating clothes to improve hot airflow. This reduces drying time by up to 25%, saves energy, softens fabrics naturally, and reduces static cling.

How long do your wool dryer balls last?

Our 100% solid wool dryer balls are tightly felted for maximum durability. They can last for over 1,000 loads of laundry, which typically translates to 2 to 4 years of regular use depending on your household's laundry frequency.

Are your felt cat caves washable?

Yes. For routine maintenance, we recommend gently vacuuming the cat cave. For deeper cleaning, you can hand wash it in cold water with a mild wool detergent. Do not machine wash or tumble dry; instead, reshape it by stuffing it with towels while wet and let it air dry naturally.

Do your handmade felt rugs shed?

A minimal amount of shedding is completely normal for new natural wool products. However, because our felt ball rugs are densely wet-felted and tightly sewn (not glued), shedding is significantly reduced and will naturally subside after the first few weeks of regular use and light vacuuming.

Are your felt balls suitable for making DIY garlands and baby mobiles?

Absolutely! Our felt balls are a favorite among crafters worldwide. Because they are dense, highly consistent in size and color, and strictly azo-free, they are perfect and safe for sewing into garlands, baby mobiles, rugs, and various other DIY craft projects.

Do you use glue or adhesives in your felt products?

No. Our felt products are entirely formed and bound using water, pure soap, friction, and occasionally needle felting or heavy cotton thread sewing. No toxic glues or chemical adhesives are ever used in our manufacturing process.

What is your return and refund policy?

If you receive a defective or incorrect item, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos of the issue. We will arrange a replacement or refund. Custom, personalized, and OEM orders are generally non-refundable once the prototype has been approved and bulk production has begun.

Can I cancel my order?

Retail orders can be canceled before they ship. For wholesale or custom orders, cancellation is only possible before bulk production begins. Once production starts, the initial deposit is non-refundable to cover material and labor costs.

How can I contact your customer support team?
